On Thursday, November 19, a five car crash led to the death of a man.
According to authorities, the crash happened on the 3900 block of Thousand Oaks Drive and it appears that a man driving a black Corvette was drag racing with another vehicle, a silver Infiniti. Then a third driver in oncoming traffic tried to make a left turn. The driver of the Corvette was unable to stop and hit that vehicle, then the Infiniti smashed into the Corvette which then lost control and hit a power box and utility pole.
Two other vehicles were also damaged by debris flying from the wreckage.
The driver of the corvette was 31 year old Jesse Zerwas and he was ejected from the car, just before it burst into flames. He was transported to SAMMC but died the next morning from his injuries.
All four lanes of the roadway were covered in debris and smoke and according to witnesses there are often people speeding in the same area and in addition there are often drag races there.
